STORY OF LAKSHMI AND KAMADHENU (Story of why people touch cow's back and do namaskaram)

Kamadhenu was born, while doing Samdura Manthana (churning of milk ocean)...Kamadhenu is said to be Cow of Plenty, who grants all wishes and prayers of devottess.. Kamadhenu cow is so divine, that all the gods are believed to reside in the body of Kamadhenu

All gods gets places in her body, like her four legs are the scriptural Veda,  her horns are the triune gods Brahma(tip), Vishnu (middle) and Shiva (base); her eyes are the sun and moon gods, her shoulders the fire-god Agni and the wind-god Vayu and her legs the Himalayas...

Lakshmi, Vishnu's consort doesnt find a place.. And she seeks a place in Kamadhenu's body... Kamadhenu denies, saying Lakshmi is fickle minded and she doesnt stay in one place... Lakshmi request's saying... "No i will  stay  permanently in you, please give me a place".  Then kamadhenu says only place left out is my rear side (prishta baagam)...Lakshmi Happily accepts and then on, she resides in the place permanently..

Most of you would have observed, people touch back of cow, and do namaskaram as Lakshmi resides there.. Also a cow is brought into house on housewarming days as Entire Hindu gods reside inside it, and brining in a cow, is as good as bringing in all Gods to home.....

STORY OF HANUMAN'S BIRTH (HANUMAN IS MANIFESTATION OF SHIVA HIMSELF)

Punjikasthala was a attendant of Lord Shiva and Devi Parvathi... Once a huge lightning striked and Punjikasthala got scared and she ran into the arms of Lord Shiva.Seeing this Parvathi got angry and cursed her to be born as Monkey....

Lord Shiva said.."Devi she dint mean this..She was just scared... Let her be born as vanara (monkey),she will give birth to a son in her monkey form who will be a manifestation Myself (Shiva himself)"

Later Punjikasthala borns as a Vanara, and marries King Kesari.. The couple pray to Lord shiva, to beget Lord shiva as there child.... And thus Anjaneya(Anjana devi putra) was born with Shiva's amsha....

One more version:
Why Hanuman is known as Vayu Putra..

Dasharatha Raja was doing a Putrakamesti Yagna(Pooja to have children.) As a result, he received some sacred pudding, to be shared by his three wives, leading to the births of Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata and Shatrughna. By divine ordinance, a kite snatched a fragment of that pudding, and dropped it while flying over the forest where Anjana was engaged in worship.

Vayu, the Hindu deity of the wind, delivered the falling pudding to the outstretched hands of Anjana, who consumed it. Hanuman was born to her as a result.
Because of Vayu Deva's part in handing over the pudding he is called Vayu putra....

STORY OF ADI PARA SHAKTI ( CREATOR OF ALL GODS AND UNIVERSE)

Adi Parashakti is the Supreme Being. The Devi Bhagwata Mahapurana suggests that Adi Parashakti is the original creator, observer and destroyer of whole universe. Parvathi, the goddess of power is considered as her Sagun Swaroop. Adi Parashakti means "The Eternally Limitless Power".

In the Begining of universe, Adi Para Shakti created 3 Masculine form of herself, called Brahma, vishnu and shiva And assigned, Brahma for srishti (To create) and Vishnu for Sthithi (Maintanence) and Shiva for Laya (dissolution) and Vanished.

Shiva,Brahma,Vishnu was not sure how to continue with above tasks and prayed Adi para shakti to show them direction to continue there tasks..And below is the form of Adi Shakti seen by them..

Satyaloka was located in her forehead; the created universe were her hairs; the sun and moon were her eyes; in her ears were the 4 directions the Vedas were her words; death, affection and emotion were her teeth; maya was manifested by her smile. This appearance revealed that all gods and goddesses, including the trimurti (Shiva,Vishnu,Bramha) and tridevi(Parvathi,Lakshmi,Sarasvathi), are merely her various forms.

Then Adi para shakti told them, Dear Shiva,Brahma and vishnu, i have given you 3 all powers, i am you, and you 3 are my forms, there is no difference between you and me, i am within all three of you, I am with Shiva as Parvathi, and as Lakshmi with Vishnu and as Sarasvathi with Brahma. From then on Trimurti's started srishti sthiti and laya Karyas.

STORY OF HOW LORD SHIVA BECAME NEELAKANTHA (Story of Samudra Manthana)

During Samudra manthana (Churning of Ocean for Amrutha),  lots of things emerged out of ocean.  Haalaa-hala, a pot of poison was one among them. This terrified the Gods and demons as the poison was so toxic that it effects would have wiped out the entire creation. On the advice of Lord Vishnu, Gods approached Lord Shiva for help and protection as only he could swallow it without being affected. On the request of gods and out of compassion for living beings, Lord Shiva drank the poison.

However, Parvati - Lord Shiva’s consort pressed his neck so that the poison does not reach his stomach. Thus, it stayed in his throat neither going up nor going down and Shiva remained unharmed. The poison was so potent that it changed the color of Lord Mahadeva’s neck to blue. For this reason, Lord Shiva is also called Neelakantha (the blue-necked one) where ‘Neela’ means blue and ‘Kantha’ means neck or throat.  However  gods  also kept Lord Shiva awake during the night to avoid poison getting down into the body. Thus, Gods kept a vigil in contemplation of Lord Shiva. To amuse Shiva and to keep him awake, the gods took turn performing various dances and playing music. As the day broke out, Lord Shiva, pleased with their devotion blessed them all. Shivaratri is the celebration of this event by which Shiva saved the world. Since then, on this day and night - devotees fast, keep vigil, sing glories of Lord and meditate.

STORY OF HOW DURGA BECAME MAHISHASURA MARDINI

Story of  MahiShasura.

Mahishasura's father Rambha was king of the  Asuras (Demon), and he once fell in love with a Water Buffalo (Princess Shyamala, cursed to be a buffalo) Mahishasura was born out of this union. He is therefore able to change between human and buffalo form at will (mahisha is Sanskrit word for buffalo).

Mahishasura  got boon from Brahma and was very powerful,  and became invincible. He started terrorising people, and occupied heaven and drove all Devas. When devas learnt  he is Invincible and only Devi Jaganmatha can defeat him, they all joined their energies into shakti.  A very powerful band of lightning emerged from the mouths of  Brahma, vishnu and shiva and a young, beautiful female virgin with ten hands appeared. All the Gods gave their special weapons to her.

This Shakti coalesced to form the goddess Durga. Riding on a lion, who assisted her. Durga fought Mahishasura. The battle raged for nine days and nights. Finally on the tenth day of Ashvin shukla paksha, Mahishasura was defeated and killed by Durga. Durga is therefore called Mahishasura-Mardini (literally the slayer of the buffalo demon), the destroyer of Mahishasura.
